Plant in full sun to partial sun, in well-drained, fertile soil in a sheltered. Redcurrants like light soil that has good drainage and is rich in humus. The results will be even better if a handful of enriched potting soil is added. Choose a sunny or partially sheltered position where the plants will be less exposed to frost. Prune every winter.
